What is a Static IP and how do I add one to my Services?

Updated over 2 months ago

IP addresses are unique identifiers that allow your internet connection to send and receive data. Most home internet users are assigned dynamic IP addresses, which can change from time to time. For everyday activities like browsing, streaming, and gaming, this typically isn’t an issue.

On the other hand, a static IP address stays the same over time. This is often preferred by business and enterprise customers who need a consistent address for things like hosting servers, remote access, or running specific applications that require a fixed point of contact on the internet.

Requesting a Static IP

To request a new Static IP for your Maverix service, open the orange Live Chat tool in the bottom right corner of your screen.

  1. Select the Static IP option.

  2. Then click on Request a Static IP.

A Maverix representative will assist you with your request from there.

  2. Then choose Issue with a Static IP from the menu.
